Lloyds Clinical (previously Lloyds Pharmacy Clinical Homecare) has pioneered access to clinical treatments outside of the hospital, in patients’ homes and communities for nearly 30 years.
For people undergoing cancer treatment, there is much to learn about their symptoms and side effects to know when to proactively seek urgent care. Many of these judgement calls are made from home, meaning that the default setting for seeking urgent treatment is in NHS hospitals.
In order to make care closer to home more efficient and safe, and reduce this burden on the NHS, better connectivity is needed so that clinical teams can spot when things aren’t right and intervene early.
By implementing Careology, we were able to better support patients receiving chemotherapy at home.
Initial results demonstrate that high patient engagement with key product features is leading to hospital avoidance, cost savings and earlier identification of patients who require clinical intervention.
70% reduction in avoidable hospital admissions
83% of clinicians found Careology helped facilitate patient discussion and education
74% of patients reported feeling more in control of their cancer journey

“Well, it's been brilliant. When you have a cancer diagnosis or a diagnosis with anything nasty, it's just really good because for every step, it's like having someone there (with you).” - Patient
